Breguet Tradition 7027BB/11/9V6 - Launched at Baselworld 2005, the Breguet Tradition has become the modern-era face of the Breguet manufacture. Even more than the Breguet Type XX pilots' watches and the Breguet Marine sports watches, the Tradition has framed Swatch-era Breguet as a legitimate contender in the luxury wristwatch class owned by Patek Philippe's Calatrava, Vacheron Constantin's Patrimony, and FP Journe's line of Octa and Souverain models. A solid gold dial with classical rose lathe guilloche floats atop a Breguet caliber 507 DR manual wind movement that doubles as the effective dial of the watch. Abraham Louis Breguet's "Pare-Chute" shock protection system has been redesigned for a wristwatch application, and it sits atop a balance that is both free sprung and suspended by a Breguet overcoil hairspring for concentric "breathing" of the hairspring in any position with respect to gravity. A power reserve indicator traces the remaining energy of the manual wind mainspring, and a calculated succession of train wheels allow the user to view the transmission of spring power from the centralized mainspring barrel to the 21,600 VpH balance itself. All of the train wheels are cut with spokes designed to evoke vintage clocks and pocket watches from the lifetime of Abraham Louis Breguet and his sons. On the reverse of the case, Breguet employs a second power reserve indicator built atop the visible power reserve gauge driving gear. A Breguet white gold case employs traditional welded lugs, screw-fixed strap bars, and cold-rolled case coining. The Breguet Tradition 7027BB/11/9V6 features a 37mm 18k white gold case surrounding a skeletonized dial on a brand new navy blue alligator strap with an 18k white gold tang buckle. Functions include hours and minutes. The watch also measures 12mm in thickness and 45.5mm from lug-to-lug.
